Christopher Alan Unger, 67, of Logansport, was reunited with his beloved wife on March 29th, 2026.

Chris was born June 21st, 1958 to Gene & Doris (Sands) Unger. On December 30th, 1983 he married the love of his life, Sharan (Grable) Unger who preceded him in death by 4 short months. Chris is survived by his mother, Doris Baker, children, Kathryn (Andy) Poirier and Abigail Unger; grandchildren, Baylee, Madison, McKenzi, Case, Eli & Zeke and his beloved dog Coco; siblings, Maryann Walker, Susan (David) Follett, Scot (Pam) Unger, Matt (Tammy) Unger as well as many nieces and nephews. Chris is also preceded in death by his father Gene Unger and his brother Charlie Unger.

Chris was a very reserved man, but he loved his family deeply. He was loyal and dependable and could always be counted on to tell a story or explain a process in the most detailed way possible. Chris loved maintaining his yard, listening to loud rock music and sharing a good laugh with his closest friends. He enjoyed yardwork so much he started his own side business providing lawncare to local residents and businesses. When he was not at work or caring for his wife, he could be found on many different adventures and car trips with Coco or just enjoying the serenity of a campfire in his backyard.

Chris was a graduate of Logansport High School in 1976. He joined the Air Force shortly after graduation and served 4 years. After many years as a cross country truck driver, Chris was blessed to find a career that utilized the experience and knowledge he gained during his time in the service. He was a proud employee of CountryMark Co-op for the last 22 years, which allowed him the opportunity to complete training and receive an Industrial Fire Brigade: Advanced Exterior certificate from the Texas A&M Emergency Services Training Institute in 2004.

A celebration of life will be held April 18th, 2026 with visitation from 1-3pm and a veterans service following at Lifegate church.

You may sign Chris’ guest book and send online condolences to the family at www.gundrumcares.com. In lieu of sending flowers please make a donation to Lifegate Church in Chris’ honor.
